RSVP has been a part of Autauga, Coosa, Elmore, Montgomery, and Tallapoosa counties for 30 years.  During this time RSVP has built an undisputed reputation of service and dedication to these communities.  Through competent staff and a supportive sponsor, Montgomery Area Council on Aging (MACOA), RSVP has built relationships with local officials and partnerships with many non-profit, faith-based, and secular organizations that seek volunteer support to assist in areas of the community in need.

This five county project has 1,305 volunteers that in the last year contributed 184,404 hours of service at 160 stations.

There are 34 volunteer stations in Montgomery, all with rewarding opportunities for volunteers.  One popular area of service is the Volunteers in Police Service.  These volunteers assist the community through service with the Montgomery Police Department (MPD). Volunteers can serve in any of the divisions of the MPD and perform a variety of services, or they can serve on patrol.  Those volunteers working patrol drive specially marked cars and keep a watchful eye on city streets.  They also perform vacation home checks. Clerical and administrative duties, such as answering phones, filing, and follow-up calls are performed in offices of the MDP.  Those volunteers working the information desk will answer questions and direct clients to the pertinent departments.
